Bugzilla is used by the UF HPC Center in order to track bugs that crop up on the system. The software for this system can be found at the Bugzilla website.

Problems

"Secure Connection Failed"

If you receive an error that the secure connection has failed because of an invalid security certificate, this is because the certificate is a self-signed certificate. Getting a certificate authority signed certificate costs quite a bit, and the UF HPC Center has not seen the need to invest in a certificate at this time.

If you get this error, there are different methods for bypassing the problem depending on your browser.

Firefox

  • The error should come up in the page, and there should be a link on the page stating that you can add an exception.
  • When you click on the link it will give a warning about going to a website that you do not trust fully. Again, click on the button that says "Add Exception".
  • A dialog box will pop up called "Add Security Exception", and the link for bugzilla should show in the Location box.
  • To the right of the Location box will be a button called "Get Certificate". Click this button.
  • Once the certificate is in the system, you can choose to view it. It should look like this:

  • You can choose to permanently store the exception. By default, this should be checked.
  • Click on "Confirm Security Exception"

Once you perform the final step above, you should be redirected to the Bugzilla website. If you chose to store it permanently, it should not pop up again, at least not until the next time we update the certificate, which should happen very soon after 07/30/2009.
